With students on campus and the official kick-off of the academic year now in the rearview mirror, we are excited to introduce you to some of the members of the Class of 2021.
For our inaugural “Student Spotlight,” we present Aidan and Logan Araujo, twin brothers who hail from Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts.
Read on to learn more about these future Bridgton alumni as they dive into the year ahead.
LOGAN:
Where are you from? (City, State, High School)
Like my brother, I am from Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts and attended Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School.
What sport or activity are your participating in this year?
I will be playing hockey at Bridgton Academy this year.
What prompted your decision to attend Bridgton Academy?
The hockey program was initially what prompted my decision, but I was also intrigued with how students come here to improve their chances of getting into a better school, or a better team, and to overall be a better person in the real world.
What are the main goals you set out to accomplish this year?
Some of my goals I wish to accomplish this year are to raise my SAT score as well as widen my knowledge in both school and life. I also wish to get in contact with as many coaches as possible.
You’ve been on campus less than a week—what are your first impressions of your Academy?
My first impression of Bridgton Academy was, “Dang; we’re in the middle of nowhere!”
I live on Martha’s Vineyard, so it is really not that much different, but honestly it is better because now I just get to focus on hockey and school and don’t have distractions.
Is there a particular class you are most looking forward to?
Honestly, I’m not a big “school” person, but I am looking forward to a class that is fun and one where I will actually learn something!
If you could choose one person—living or dead—to enjoy a meal with in Goldsmith Dining Hall, who would you choose and why?
If I could choose one person to have a meal with, it would be Martin Luther King Jr because of what the United States is going through with police brutality. I just would like to see what his opinion is on it.
Is there anything else you would like us to know about you? There is really not much more to say other than that I hope to become a better man by the end of the school year.
