Bridgton Academy Alum Takes Full-Time Position

NORTH BRIDGTON, ME – Jamie White, Bridgton Academy Class of 2010, has joined Bridgton Academy full-time as Admissions Officer, taking on the position after nearly two years as an intern in both the Marketing and Admissions departments.

White will spend most of his time on the road, traveling as a recruiter on behalf of Bridgton Academy, visiting with prospective families, educational consultants, and high school guidance counselors. When he is back on campus, White will meet with and interview families when they visit the Academy. He will also be tasked with following up on application files, helping students and parents through their Bridgton Academy application.

“Bridgton Academy has played a huge role in my life, and I’m extremely excited to become a full-time member of the Admissions staff,” said White. “This is a great opportunity; I can’t wait to make the most of it!”

Bridgton Academy has found great success by promoting from within – and this is another example of Bridgton identifying the perfect candidate for a new position already on staff. White will use his experience as a student and soccer player while at the Academy, plus his invaluable experience as an intern, to educate potential families about the unique opportunity offered to young men by Bridgton Academy.

“Jamie is a tremendous fit for this position; the experience he brings as a student-athlete at Bridgton Academy, plus the energy and passion he shows for the Academy, is a tremendous introduction for any prospective Bridgton Academy student,” said Chief Enrollment and Advancement Officer Chris Webb. “We couldn’t be more happier to have Jamie on board full-time.

White came to Bridgton Academy in the fall of 2009 as member of a soccer team that went undefeated and saw several members of the team go on to successful college careers. White was a four-year soccer player at Curry College. Upon his graduation in 2014, White arrived at Bridgton Academy that fall. In his first year as an intern at the Academy, White acted as the Marketing Intern for the 1808 Media House; he also returned to the Bridgton Academy Soccer team, acting as Assistant Coach on a team that reached the NEPSAC playoffs for the first time in eight years. In 2015 he began the year in Marketing and moved into a role as Admissions Assistant, which has led directly into a transition into a full-time position in the Admissions Office.

Bridgton Academy’s mission is to provide a program for young men in a unique, one-year postgraduate environment to prepare for the competitive rigors of college and beyond. Bridgton Academy is located in western Maine, in the town of North Bridgton.
