Bridgton Academy Certified in USA FOOTBALL’S HEADS UP FOOTBALL® PROGRAM FOR 2016

USA Football Master Trainer and Bridgton Academy Interim Head Football Coach Matt Burgess ’88 has implemented, evaluated and monitored Heads Up Football player safety protocols at the Academy. We are also the first postsecondary school to receive such certification.

Tim Rye joins the Bridgton Academy Class of 2017 from Chelsea, in the United Kingdom. Prior to living in the UK, Tim was born in Australia, and he is also a member of the hockey team.

Headmaster Grady Vigneau Announces His Departure from Bridgton Academy

After nine years of leading Bridgton Academy, Headmaster Graydon E. Vigneau, Jr., has announced that he will retire from Bridgton Academy in June of 2017. New Head of School Martin Mooney from the Peddie School (NJ) will be Grady’s successor effective in June 2017.

Brenden Rothwell joins the Class of 2017 from Lynnfield, Massachusetts. Brenden is the Captain of the Wolverine Club.

Jalen Martinez joins Bridgton Academy’s Class of 2017 from Methuen, Massachusetts. Prior to Bridgton Jalen attended the Brooks School in North Andover, Massachusetts. He is also a member of the football team.

Saturday, August 27th is the official opening of Bridgton Academy’s 209th academic year. There are a few new faces on staff for the Class of 2017, including former lacrosse coach Matt Nutley who returns after 12 years of coaching.
